  Once you have completed your research and have compiled a list of key phrases you would like to target, it's time to begin the web site development or update phase of your Internet marketing campaign.  I can't stress enough how important attention to detail is during this phase.  Most people don't realize that page titles, headers, page content, link structure and even web site file names are important factors in achieving top ranking results in search engines.  Another important factor, perhaps one of the most important factors in my opinion is the links that you have pointing to your web site from other web sites.  You will want to get as many links pointing to your web site from QUALITY domains to achieve the most effective results.  Stay away from link farms, these will only hurt your rankings.  You will also find that the actual text of the link will play a key role in getting to the top for that key phrase.  For example, say I am wanting to achieve better results for the key phrase Web Site Templates.  I will want to get as many links as I can from other domains pointing to the URL I want to drive traffic to with this key phrase as the text link like I've done above.  If you have an image linking to you, make sure your alt text has the key phrase you are targeting somewhere in it.
